Q. What is Gigabit Internet ?
A. Gigabit Internet is NewWave’s newest, ultra-fast Internet service. NewWave’s network has been upgraded to gigabit speeds capable of up to 1,000Mbps download and up to 50Mbps upload. Gigabit Internet is $125/month and includes a 1,200GB Data Plan.
Q. Who can get it?
A. NewWave is rolling out Gigabit Internet nationwide to our residential customers. All neighborhoods in a Gigabit community can get this service — we’re not limiting service to specific areas. We’re working hard to upgrade your area.
Q. What kind of wired speeds will I get?
A. We’re confident you’ll love Gigabit speeds. However, Gigabit Internet service may be faster than your computer and network’s capability. Old equipment and connections often run at speeds slower than a gigabit. Customers who have optimum hardware and connections should expect wired speed tests in excess of 500Mbps on a NewWave’s speed test site.
Q. What kind of WiFi speeds will I get?
A. The speeds of our Gigabit Internet service are greater than what today’s WiFi systems can deliver. The speeds you’ll actually receive vary based on the type of WiFi protocol (G/N/AC), the device being used to access the Internet, and the distance between the WiFi antenna and your device.

Q. How is this service being delivered?
A. This service is using our upgraded, ultra-reliable and fast hybrid fiber-coaxial network. A new modem is required.
Q. Do I need a new modem or router?
A. An approved DOCSIS 3.0 32 channel modem is required for Gigabit Internet service, and is available for lease from NewWave or may be obtained from 3rd party retailers when available. If you have a home router, you should confirm it is capable of gigabit speeds.
