NewWave Communications’ contract with MLB Network ends on March 31, 2019. Effective April 1, 2019, NewWave will no longer carry MLB Network. MLB Network carries out-of-market games. Baseball fans will still be able to see local games on their broadcast stations, along with baseball games carried on Regional Sports Networks, FS1, ESPN, ESPN2, TBS and MLB.com.
Q: What is changing?
A: As of April 1, 2019, NewWave will no longer carry MLB Network.
Q: Why can I no longer get the MLB Network?
A: Our contract with MLB Network expires March 31, 2019. Unfortunately, we are unable to come to terms with MLB to continue to carry the MLB Network.
Q: How can I continue to view Major League Baseball games?
A: Baseball fans will still be able to view regional games carried on local broadcast stations, Regional Sports Networks, FS1, ESPN, ESPN2 and TBS, and online at MLB.com.
Q: Is the MLB.com programming the same as the MLB Network programming?
A: While both MLB.com and MLB network provide baseball content, each of the platforms provide unique programming.
Q: Why wasn’t I notified of this change?
A: This change is being communicated with a scrolling message on The Weather Channel throughout the entire month of March, and also appears on March billing statements.
